Functional Skills English Tutor (Level 3) – Online

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Functional Skills English Tutor (Level 3) to deliver a short-term online course on behalf of a well-established adult education charity delivering community-based learning across the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by supporting adult learners to develop essential English skills and achieve their qualifications.

About the Role

You will deliver a structured Functional Skills English Level 3 programme to a consistent group of learners over a four-week period.

Delivery will be fully online (via platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom) and will focus on helping learners develop key skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, with a strong emphasis on preparing for assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging online lessons
• Support learners in improving:
  • Reading comprehension
  • Writing skills (formal and informal)
  • Speaking and listening confidence
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to learners
• Prepare learners for assessment and achievement outcomes
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and progress

Role Details

• Start Date: 29th June
• End Date: 23rd July
• Days: Monday to Thursday
• Hours: 9:30am – 1:30pm
• Delivery: Fully online
• Programme Length: 4 weeks
• Learners: Consistent cohort throughout

Requirements

• Experience delivering Functional Skills English (Level 2 or Level 3)
• Teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of the Functional Skills curriculum and assessments
• Experience delivering remote/online learning
• Ability to engage and motivate adult learners
